Jacky Blot is a revolutionary figure in Montlouis. His wines at Domaine de la Taille aux Loups have become a benchmark for dry Chenin Blancs.
Even though Blot owns vines in both Bretonniere and Venise, two of Vouvray’s finest terroirs, he is not permitted to bottle his wines from there as Vouvray, and must instead label them Vin de France. Blot was the first in Montlouis, in 1993, to make pet-nat, leading eventually to the appellation Montlouis Pétillant Originel in 2007.
Les Haut de Rousseau is a 100% Chenin Blanc produced some of the highest vineyards in Mountlouis planted with 70 years old vines in clay and silex soils on limestone subsoil.
The wine is fermented with indigenous yeast and matured in oak barrels 20% new and 80% used 1-4 years. Certified Organic
