The eldest son of the famed Marc Colin, Pierre-Yves made wine at the family domaine from 1994 to 2005, when his father divide its holdings amongst the 4 siblings. The 6 ha allocated enabled him to start producing his own wines.
Fruit from a 0.20ha plot planted in 1995.
Pressed as whole bunches in pneumatic presses, putting a constant high pressure for 2-3h, in order to avoid premature oxidation. No debourbage (settling of the must before fermentation)
The must is fermented with indigenous yeast in 350L barrels and Pierre Yves avoid the use of battonnage after malolactic is completed. The wines age in a mix of neutral 350L demi muid, and 228 barriques of those 30% are new. (Francois Frere).
