Since the 17th century, the Gisselbrecht family has been making wines in Dambach-la-Ville, at the foot of the Vosges mountains in Alsace.
The 17 hectares domaine own several small plots around Dambach, including grand crus. They combine tradition with modernity, with the use of the latest technologies in winemaking.
Vinification carried out in a combination of large neutral oak as well as concrete fermentation tanks, after which wines are allowed to settle naturally, rather than being subjected to filtration. Once bottled, the wines of Willy Gisselbrecht are allowed to rest in the cellar for up to an additional year before release to market.
Riesling Frankstein Grand Cru
Frankstein Grand Cru groups together four hillsides dominating the village of Dambach-la-Ville. The preferred south to south-east exposures were carefully delimited to best enhance the full quintessence of this terroir. Here both the soil and sub-soil are granite.
