Scavino was founded in 1921 in Castiglione Falletto from Lorenzo Scavino and his son Paolo. Nowadays the 23 hecatres of the estate are managed by Enrico Scavino together with the daughters Enrica and Elisa, fourth generation to run the family Estate. The family farms 19 different crus in the region.
Barolo Carobric was firstly produced in 1996. It is made with fruit from Rocche di Castiglione, Cannubi and Bric dël Fiasc, with most of the fruit coming from the highest portion of Bric des Fiasco vineyard. 100% Nebbiolo
Vinification takes place in stainless steel rotofermenters, and maceration last between 8-12 days. The 1998 was matured in 30% new French oak for 10 months, than spend another 24 months in neutral Slavonian casks, and 10 months in bottle before release.
