A partnership between Mouton Rothschild and Robert Mondavi that started in 1979 in Oakville, California. Today Opus One is jointly owned by the Baron Philippe de Rothschild S.A., and Constellation Brands.
Grapes are harvest from four key vineyards at the Opus One estate, the most famous being To Kalon.
Opus is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Malbec, Petit Verdot.
Each parcel is vinified in its own tank, and the final blend is aged in new French oak around 20 months.
