Dating back to 1720 the Chateau had its name inspired by the soil found in the vineyards of the property, meaning "beautiful gravels.

The Chateau is one of the few that was built on top of its cellar and remain the official residence of the Borie family.

There are 75 hectares of vines planted in the property surrounding the Chateau, and the soil of Gunzian gravel originated from the Massif Central and the Pyrenees, are a fairly common occurrence in the Bordeaux vineyards. The vineyards are planted 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Merlot, and the wine ages in 50-80% new oak depending on the vintage. The Chateau started in 2018 the conversion to organic farming.

This 1985 is an Ex-Chateu Late Release in perfect condition. This is a blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Merlot.
