Chateau Cantenac Brown is located in the Margaux appellation and classified as a 3rd. growth in the historical 1855 Medoc Classification.

The Chateau owns 42 hectares of land planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc, and it's history dates back to 1806 when John Lewis Brown a Frenchman with Scottish ancestors established the vineyards and gave his name to the estate.

In 1989 the Chateau was bought by the insurance group AXA, and under the direction of Christian Seely the estate was in the tracks to be one of the best properties in Margaux. Since 1996 the Chateau vineyards is grown applying sustainable viticulture principles. Recently in 2019 the Chateau was sold to its current owner the Urgo Group, a large pharmaceutical Company.

60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot

Matured for 14 months in 60% new French oak and 40% one year used oak.
