Frederic Esmonin is a small family run Domaine in Gevrey-Chambertin. The domain has just 6.5 hectares and they also make a few wines under a négociant label, from grapes that they have purchased.

Until 1987, all production was sold to négociants such as Maison Leroy and Louis Jadot and some of Leroy's most famous wines from the 1950s are said to have come from Domaine Frédéric Esmonin. Frédéric Esmonin's mother and father are still active in the running of the Domain and the family is one of the oldest and best known in Gevrey-Chambertin.

The Domain practices "lutte raisonnée" which means no use of chemicals and additives, all production is done in a natural and gentle way for the environment.
