Domaine de Bellene and Roche de Bellene (negociant) were established by Nicolas Potel in 2005, following the sale of his negociant operation Maison Nicolas Potel in 2004 to Cottin Freres (also owner of Laboure-Roi).
Currently Domaine de Bellene leases 24 hectares of vineyards situated in Beaune, Nuits-Saint-Georges, Saint-Romain, Santenay, Volnay and Vosne-Romanée.
In the cellar the domaine has very modern equipments but a hands off approach and no additives used.
Vosne Romanee Quartiers de Nuits
100% Pinot Noir
Only 1900 bottles produced. A south eastern vineyard in Vosne Romanee with only 0.3171ha.
Planted in 1927, with clay limestone soil. The grapes are vinified in whole cluster over more than 3 weeks. The wine is aged in 600-litre oak barrels (50% new / 50% second used) for 12 months.
