Les Forts de Latour is the second wine of Chateau Latour and its grapes comes from 3 different sources:
First vines planted outside of the Grand Enclos; Comtesse de Lalande, Petit Batailley and St Anne. Those vines are average 40 years old.
Second younger vines of the Chateau Latour around 12 years old, and Third is sourced from parcels of Chateau Latour vineyard that will not be used for the grand vin.
The wine receive a higher proportion of Merlot compared to the estate wine and the wines are matured for 18 months in 50% new oak every year.
A blend of: 64.3% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35.3% Merlot and 0.4% Cabernet Franc
