The Distillery
Glenmorangie distillery has a record of alcohol production dating back to 1703 in the Morangie farm. A brewery was officially built in 1730, but only in 1843 the brewery was converted to distillery by William Matheson, who bought 2 gin stills and named it Glenmorangie.
It was one of the first distilleries to export whisky to US.
In 1918 the distillery was purchased by one of its main clients, the Macdonald family who run the company for almost 90 years before selling it to LVMH group.
