Jacky Blot is a revolutionary figure in Montlouis. His wines at Domaine de la Taille aux Loups have become a benchmark for dry Chenin Blancs.
Even though Blot owns vines in both Bretonniere and Venise, two of Vouvray’s finest terroirs, he is not permitted to bottle his wines from there as Vouvray, and must instead label them Vin de France. The top soil is a mixture of sand and clay soil sitting on pure limestone.
Fermented with indigenous yeasts in a mix of new and used barrels (20% new, 80% 1-4 years old barrels). Blocked malo.
