Holger Koch Chardonnay Herrenstuck, 2020, 750ML

100% Chardonnay from 10 years old vines grafted from Puligny Montrachet, planted at 300m of altitude in loess and volcanic soils from Kaiserstuhl.

The grapes are pressed 90% in direct press, with 10% macerated with skin contact, and fermented with indigenous yeast. The wines are matured in 500 and 1200L oak casks.

A level up from the Kaiserstuhl wines are the Herrenstück terraces, whose wines amplify the texture of their lower elevation counterparts without sacrificing freshness.

Herrenstuck is equivalent to regional level in terms of complexity and fruit ripeness.
