IMPORTANT NOTICE:
It is illegal to sell alcohol to persons under the age of 18. By placing an order, you must confirm that you are 18 years old or above. You must ensure that no other person except yourself shall use your login to purchase alcohol products and a person aged 18 or above (identification may require) must be present to accept delivery, otherwise delivery shall be withdrawn and rescheduled at a time mutually agreed between you and us.
General Terms and Conditions
These terms and conditions shall be applied to all sales and form the basis upon which orders are accepted by Madison Wine Club Limited (MWC). They shall be applied to all transactions unless varied in writing to all future transactions.
1. General
1.1 In these terms and conditions and the Special Conditions (as defined below) (collectively referred to as the "Terms and Conditions"), "Madison Wine Club Limited", "MWC", "Company", "we" or "us" means Madison Wine Club Limited and the "customer" or "you" means any person, firm, company or entity which places an order with us. Please read these terms and conditions carefully before using the site. By using the site or any part of it, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
1.2 We shall make every effort to ensure that prices, details and sizes of products displayed at our online shop are up-to-date. Prices are subject to change without prior notice, and all orders are subject to our acceptance at our sole discretion and stock availability.
1.3 We shall make every effort to ensure that product(s) displayed at our online shop are in stock. If any products are out of stock from time to time, we reserve the right to offer alternative product(s) of similar value and style.
1.4 All orders shall be subject to confirmation of final availability, and the Company reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to reject any order in the event that the products or services requested are unavailable.
1.5 We reserve the right to amend these terms and conditions from time to time without prior notice. The amended terms and conditions shall take effect from the date of publication on our site. Your continued use of our site and services constitutes your unconditional acceptance of the latest version of the Terms and Conditions.
2. Registration
2.1 You are required to register as a user before placing any order through our online shop. During registration:
2.1.1 You must provide us with accurate, complete and up-to-date registration information;
2.1.2 You must safeguard your username and password;
2.1.3 You authorize us to assume that any person using the online shop with your username and password is either you or duly authorized to act on your behalf.
2.1.4 We have the absolute discretion to refuse registration of a potential customer and to terminate the registration of any customer for any reason whatsoever.
2.2 The Customer shall promptly notify the Company, via its website, email, phone, or designated instant messaging applications, of any changes to the informationpreviously provided, to ensure effective communication.
4. Notification for Ordering
4.1 Our online shop accepts orders only for delivery within Hong Kong to a specified shipping address, or for collection at a designated warehouse located in Hong Kong.
4.2Placing an order signifies your agreement to purchase products or services in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. Upon receipt of your order, we will issue an acknowledgement. However, such acknowledgement does not constitute acceptance of your order. We reserve the right to reject any purchase order without providing reasons. If we are unable to accept your order (for example, due to a payment issue), the Customer shall be notified by telephone or email.
4.3 If your order is accepted, we will confirm with you and provide the delivery date and time, or advise the availability for collection at a designated warehouse.
5. Promotions
5.1 To apply a promotion code, you must enter it before completing your order. Each promo code may be used once only and cannot be applied to orders that have already been placed. Promo codes offering a percentage discount may not be used in conjunction with any other discount or promotion.
5.2 Promo codes are not transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash or credit.
5.3 Certain goods are excluded from promo codes. You should check the specific details of each promo code to confirm which products it applies to. We reserve the right to cancel your order if a promo code is applied to excluded or incorrect goods.
6. Payment
6.1 We accept payment by designated electronic payment methods, including Visa, MasterCard, American Express, UnionPay, AlipayHK, PayMe, WeChat Pay, Faster Payment System (FPS), and bank transfer.
6.2 Payment must be completed before delivery or collection of goods.
6.3 The Company’s online shop shall accept payment by designated credit cards, debit cards, or other electronic means as specified by the Company. All product prices shall be denominated in Hong Kong dollars.
6.4 To provide a safe and reliable online shopping experience, our online shop uses Shopify Checkout / Shopify Payments to process transactions. Shopify uses Transport Layer Security (TLS) to protect connections to our store and during checkout. This helps protect information transmitted over the internet. Shopify Checkout is secure, and all Shopify stores are PCI compliant by default.
6.5 Where additional charges apply to an order, such charges will be presented separately for your acknowledgement and confirmation prior to proceeding to payment.
6.6 The acceptance of any order is subject to the sole discretion of the Company. A final receipt shall be issued to the Customer upon delivery of the goods to the designated address.
7. Delivery terms
7.1 The customer shall be entitled to ONE-OFF FREE delivery to one Hong Kong local address per invoice for orders exceeding HK$1,500. For orders below this threshold, a delivery fee will be charged based on the district.

7.2 Where the goods to be delivered exceeds 15 cases or is required to be palletized, an external quote for delivery cost will be provided. Please contact our customer service via email cs@madison-wine.com or WhatsApp (852) 9742 0065 to make special arrangements before placing your order.
7.3 Doorstep delivery means that our delivery service provider will deliver your order to your door for acceptance. The delivery service provider will not be obligated to carry your order beyond the entrance of the specified delivery address.
7.4 Delivery service is available from Monday to Friday from 10:30 am to 5:30 pm (excluding Saturday, Sunday and public holidays).
7.5 Delivery is limited to Hong Kong Island, Kowloon, New Territories, Discovery Bay and Ma Wan. Delivery is not available to outlying islands, Airport, restricted areas and P.O. Box numbers, and is conditional on there being an authorized or legitimate unloading area available.
7.6 For orders with a designated delivery address at a warehouse in Hong Kong, the Customer shall be responsible for any registration fees and gate charges. These fees will be listed separately and confirmed with the Customer prior to payment. Delivery will only proceed once such fees have been received.
7.7 For successful orders with payment received in full between 9:30am – 4pm (Monday –Friday), the estimated time for delivery to designated address will be 2 to 3 working days depending on the quantity. Upon full settlement of your invoice, we will confirm the expected delivery date and time.
7.8 For orders placed on Saturday, Sunday or any public holiday, the earliest estimated delivery date will be the day following the next business day.
7.9 We will deliver as scheduled to the best of our ability.
7.10 Delivery may be influenced by seasonal factors such as special promotional events, and festive periods like Christmas or Chinese New Year, during which we may experience a higher order volume.
7.11 Please verify that all purchased goods have been delivered in accordance with the delivery note or invoice (as applicable) upon delivery, and sign and return the delivery note to our courier to confirm your acceptance of the goods.
7.12 If you or a representative is not available to receive the goods as scheduled or if the delivery information provided is inaccurate, we retain the right to impose an additional delivery fee for any subsequent delivery attempts.
7.13 If delivery is delayed, postponed, or cancelled due to traffic, weather, or other uncontrollable forces, the Company shall not be held responsible for any resulting loss or damage.
7.14 Delivery and collection services will be suspended when Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above, or a Black Rain Warning is hoisted. In such events, customers will be contacted to reschedule the delivery or collection at no additional charge.
7.15 If the delivery address necessitates the use of staircases, the first 5 staircases will incur no additional charge. Subsequently, a Staircase Handling fee of HK$30 per case per floor applies, with each increment of 15 stairs counted as one level.
7.15 We reserve the right to charge storage fees at our prevailing rates in the event that you fail to receive the ordered products within 2 weeks from the date of order confirmation not arising from our faults.
8. Return and refund
8.1 Wine or champagne over 10 years old shall not be refunded under any circumstances.
8.2 Due to the nature of the goods and for safety and hygiene reasons, we do not accept return or refund except:
• Item(s) in your order was incorrect or out of stock
• Item(s) in your order was damaged upon delivery
8.3 Customers must notify us at cs@madison-wine.com or WhatsApp (852) 9742 0065 within 3 days of receipt. Otherwise under normal circumstances, we would not accept any request for exchange of products or refund.
8.4 To be eligible for a return, item(s) must be unopened, unused, and in the same condition as received, with original packaging intact.
8.5 To apply for refund / return, Customers must provide the order number, valid reason, and proof of purchase (such as relevant electronic receipt).
8.6 If we agree that you are entitled to an exchange but the requested product(s) are sold out, you may return the product(s) to us and apply the amount paid towards the purchase of alternative product(s).
8.7 We will arrange collection within 1–2 working days. Once the returned item(s) are received and inspected, we will notify the Customer of approval or rejection via email.
8.8 If approved, refunds will be processed and credited to the original payment method within 4–6 weeks.
8.9 In exceptional cases, at our sole discretion, we may issue a refund to credit card or original bank account. Please note that such refunds may take approximately 4–6 weeks to process.
8.10 Only regular‑priced item(s) are eligible; sale item(s) are non‑refundable.
8.11 Free gift item(s) cannot be returned or redeemed for cash.
8.12 All gift items must be returned together with the returned products. Otherwise the retail value of the gift item would be deducted from the refund.
9. Force Majeure
9.1 The Company shall not be held liable for any delay or failure to perform its obligations under these Terms and Conditions where such delay or failure is caused by, or results from, acts of God, fire, flood, accident, riot, war, governmental intervention, embargoes, strikes, labour difficulties, equipment malfunctions, or any other circumstances beyond the Company’s reasonable control.
9.2 In such circumstances, the Company’s obligations shall be suspended for the duration of the event, and the Company shall not be liable for any resulting delay.
10. Privacy protection
10.1 We are committed to safeguarding the privacy of individuals with respect to personal data. We therefore ensure that our policies and practices in relation to the collection, use, retention, transfer and access of personal data comply with the requirements of the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486) under the laws of Hong Kong. Please refer to our Privacy Policy.
11. Others
11.1 We will not be liable if we fail to perform any of our obligation under these Terms and Conditions resulting from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including internet system failure, computer glitch and hacking.
11.2 We shall under no circumstances be liable for any loss (whether direct or indirect) of revenue, loss of profits or any indirect or consequential loss whatsoever suffered, sustained or incurred by you or by other person arising (directly or indirectly) out of the sale and purchase transaction with you.
11.3 If any provision of these Terms and Conditions shall be construed to be illegal or invalid, they shall be removed from these terms and it shall not affect the legality, validity and enforceability of the other provisions of these Terms and Conditions.
11.4 These Terms and Conditions embody the entire agreement between the parties and they supersede all previous negotiations, representations and agreement between the parties.
11.5 We have the right, at any time, or from time to time, by giving prior notice to you, to modify or vary or supplement all or any of the provisions under these Terms and Conditions.
11.6 No failure or delay by us in exercising any right under these Terms and Conditions shall operate as a waiver of such right.
11.7 In the event of any discrepancy or inconsistency between the English and Chinese versions of this Terms & Condition, the English version shall prevail.
11.8 In the event of any disputes, the decision of Madison Wine shall be final.
12. Laws applicable
12.1 These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the People's Republic of China and the Customer and we agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Hong Kong courts.
