The Bilame® twin blade corkscrew, an historical part of L’Atelier du Vin’s range since 1949 (patent date), extracts and leaves the cork intact, even those which are old and fragile. The cork is not pierced, and thus does not crumble. As the legend goes, the Bilame was the favourite tool of waiters in French “ bistrots ”. Thanks to it, they could take a few sips from bottles and then replace corks without anyone noticing! Chromed metal. Designed and made in France.

The Bilame Chrome is Made in France
In 1949, L’Atelier du Vin patented the Bilame bottle opener. This atypical corkscrew is designed and manufactured in France, winning over the wine world with its unique mechanism to effortlessly extract and reinsert a cork without piercing it. Its superb chrome finish highlights the ingenuity of its dual function, much to collectors’ delight.
A Minimal and Luminous Design
Less is more! This bottle opener features two thin parallel blades attached to a sturdy triangle-shaped handle. The geometric design of this historic wine accessory is resolutely minimal. The Bilame corkscrew combines the charm of an old-fashioned tool with timeless and elegant clean lines, created by our designers in our Paris studio. This dazzling bottle opener with a chrome finish is sure to wow guests at a wine-tasting session!
A Masterpiece of Ergonomics
Behind the harmonious simplicity of its design lies a masterful technical feat. The two blades are sturdy, flexible, and slightly curved to fit all necks and corks. The twin blades are protected by a rectangular sheath. The shape of the handle was studied and designed to be as ergonomic as possible when opening and closing a bottle. The Bilame Chrome corkscrew provides an ideal grip to complete all the necessary actions: insert, tilt, screw, and pull.
A Wine Tool for Connoisseurs and Professionals
The Bilame Chrome bottle opener is an invitation to learn the art of sommeliers and understand and appreciate each movement of the hand to perfectly extract the cork. Each bottle opening is different, depending on the vintage and the person handling the corkscrew. Neophytes may be surprised to discover a new way of extracting a cork without piercing it, while connoisseurs can use the Bilame bottle opener to remove and reposition fragile corks, and carefully enjoy an aging wine.
