Cornas "Terre Brulee"
The flagship of the domaine, this 100% Syrah cuvée is a blend of selections made in the different terroirs of the estate, Mazards, with 50-year-old vines in granite, clay-limestone soils; Chaillot mainly granit; Pied de la Vigne, with its clay-limestone soil, and Combe, the southernmost lieu-dit in the appellation, comprising sandy granite soils.
Fermented with whole cluster in stainless steel and concrete tanks, and aged entirely in neutral 600-liter demi-muids, for 18 months.
“Terre Brulée” is a Cornas of immense concentration, deep, meaty aromatics, intense effusive spiciness, and a bristling tension that beckons for a bit of patience but is thrilling in its vibrancy.
